Slow, sensory experiences in the Sugar Creek garden, to explore rest and hibernation.

What

This month’s nature therapy gathering brings the community together for a mid-day slow down, exploring the concepts of rest and hibernation as we edge towards Winter. We will bring our attention to the earth around us at Sugar Creek - the cooling water, the crows, the bare branches of our trees, the waning moon - and connect with them in camaraderie and support.

What to expect:

Grounding practice

Outdoor sensory invitations
A nature-based ritual
Community under the moon

What to bring (optional):

- Journal and something to write / draw with

- Water bottle

This practice is suitable for adults of all ages and physical abilities.

Meet Julie of NorthSouthEast Nature & Forest Therapy

Julianne Mesaric is a certified nature therapy guide, trained with the Association for Nature and Forest Therapy. She is inspired by the philosophy of ecocentrism, the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing), and the relational framework of nature therapy. As a guide, Julie’s intention is to create the space for the radical act of slowing down outside, together in community.
