Native Pollinators with Ms. Sarah!
- Recommended age: 7-12 years
Learn all about pollinators with the Wylde Center! In Part I we will learn about bees of course, but also take a look at other insects and animals that help many of the world's plants complete their life cycles. At the end, learn how to make a pollinator habitat, including your own native insect hotel, and go for a pollinator scavenger hunt in your own backyard.
*Materials are not included in registration fee. Although it is encouraged, suggested materials are not required to participate.
Post-activity suggested materials (for your insect hotel):
- A reused container, like a soup can or plastic water bottle
- Collection of small bamboo shoots, paper straws, hollow stems, or small tree branches/wood blocks with holes drilled to fill your recycled container.
- Twine, wire, twist tie, or zip-tie
- Glue (optional, but very helpful)
- Scissors
